The Leo Cavanagh Quintet

The LEO CAVANAGH QUINTET plays exciting performances of both original compositions and jazz standards build upon the traditions of jazz while reflecting the rich influences of other types of music. With its unique sound and accessible compositions, the group has found a niche which is both rewarding to the musicians and satisfying to a broad audience.

The other members of the LEO CAVANAGH QUINTET are David Scott on tenor saxophone and flute, Rene Jenkins on trombone, Rocky Klemenok on bass, and Kevin Dillon on drums.

David Scott, playing tenor saxophone and flute, is a native of Australia. He was raised in Tahiti and spent much time playing in Paris, France. He is comfortable with a wide variety of styles, including jazz, cajun, zydeco, big band, rhythm and blues and Tahitian.

Trombonist Rene Jenkins began his professional career in Sonoma County playing R&B, Motown, big band swing, funk and soul. In the past four years, he has been increasingly influenced by the Shamanic Icaros, tribal rhythms & ancient indigenous instruments of healing.
